THE BOURNE LEGACY took the No. 1 movie position in America last week and features the work of country hit-maker Rodney Atkins.  The film made use of Cleaning This Gun,” the fourth No. 1 off Atkins’ 2006 release, IF YOU’RE GOING THROUGH HELL – the previous album No. 1’s being the title track, “Watching You,” and “These Are My People.”  The RIAA-Gold-certified “Gun” was written by Casey Beathard and Marla Cannon-Goodman.

The CMA Songwriters Series makes its Pittsburgh debut bringing some of Nashville’s best tunesmiths to Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Sept. 12 (8:00 PM show time, doors open at 7:00 PM). Rodney Atkins and Luke Laird will join host Bob DiPiero for a night of music and storytelling.

Music City Gives Back - CountryMusicRocks.net

On Tuesday, June 5, award-winning and platinum-selling country star Rodney Atkins will once again host the Second Annual “Music City Gives Back” Benefit Concert in in partnership with Music City, Inc. The event will be free to the public and features an all-star lineup including the legendary Clint Black, Thompson Square, Lee Brice, Josh Thompson, Jana Kramer, The Farm, Mallary Hope, and The Willis Clan.  Music is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. on the outdoor stage on Broadway in downtown Nashville between Second and Fourth Avenues. 

With the help of sponsors Cricket Wireless, Wrangler, Carl Black Chevrolet, and GAC, fans will be able to enjoy a night of great music at no cost and have the opportunity to contribute to the American Red Cross.  Donations may be made on-site and online.

“Last year was such a great experience to close down broadway and to raise money and awareness for the American Red Cross we decided to do it again,” shares Atkins.  “This is an organization that helps so many people in all of our communities and they need support not just when disaster strikes.  Looking forward to getting out there and working with Cricket / Muve Music and Wrangler to raise awareness and party with everyone in Music City.”

Curb recording artist Rodney Atkins debuts his new video for “He’s Mine” today, Tuesday, May 8, exclusively on iTunes.

Directed by Ry Cox and produced by Iris Baker, the music video for “He’s Mine” features a special cameo by Atkins’ own father, Allan Atkins.  The story line follows multiple father /son pairs from the rambunctious rebellion of the children’s early years on into the honorable young men they become – the parents remain proud to claim them as their own. “He’s Mine” marks the second single off Atkins’ latest album, Take A Back Road.  Take A Back Road has already produced the multi-week No. 1 title single and contains promise of more great hits to come.
