Last night, in the company of family and industry friends, Reba fulfilled a childhood dream – induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. During the private Medallion Ceremony fellow legendary artists honored her, along with Bobby Braddock and Jean Shepard. Dolly Parton inducted Reba into “Modern Era Artist” category for her contributions to the genre while Bill Anderson acknowledged Braddock and George Jones recognized Shepard.
The Country Music Hall of Fame’s most important annual event included musical salutes to the inductees. Paying tribute to Reba, Garth Brooks performed “Whoever’s In New England” and Vince Gill sang “Somebody Should Leave” while the powerhouse pairing of Kelly Clarkson and Martina McBride knocked out “Does He Love You” and Trisha Yearwood and Reba’s sister, Susie, took the stage for “How Blue.”
“Being inducted into the Hall of Fame has been a lifelong dream. I am thrilled with this honor,” said Reba.
Later this week Reba will have the opportunity to turn the spotlight. She and Blake Shelton will co-host the “Tornado Relief Concert” in Durant, OK to raise support for their hometown friends who were devastated by recent tornadoes. After the initial May 26 date sold out in less than two hours, they announced a second, set for May 25. Tickets for the second show are one sale now and may be purchased by phone at 1-800-585-3737 or online at choctawcasinos.com.

Reba’s new single “If I Were A Boy” impacts Country Radio tomorrow, January 24th. Reba was asked what she would do differently if she was a boy!!! Watch & find out….
After climbing to the top of the country charts with “Turn on the Radio,” Reba is now hitting the airwaves with her latest single, “If I Were A Boy.” The song, which was originally recorded by Beyoncé, was one of the songs she performed for CMT‟s music series Unplugged.
The tune, which was suggested by her manager-husband Narvel Blackstock and record label president Scott Borchetta, fit her so perfectly, she decided to record it for her new album, All The Women I Am.
“The concept of that show was you do five songs of yours, and then do a song, a cover, out of a different format. And so I was thinking, What? A Lady Gaga song or something? And Narvel and Scott both said, Noooo. If I Were A Boy. So, I recorded it and we taped it, and then as soon as it was finished, everybody was like, Omigosh! You’ve got to record that song.‟
Reba’s “If I Were A Boy” impacts Country Radio on January 24th.
The Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark productions announced today that one of the “most versatile of contemporary country singers” (The New York Times) and all-around funnyman Blake Shelton will join forces with country music superstar Reba to host the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
“This is an incredibly special moment for me,” said Shelton. “I am humbled that Reba invited me to co-host the ACM Awards with her. She is not only a mentor to me but a true friend. She continually supports other artists, which is a testament really to her beauty and talent” Shelton adds with a laugh. “You will definitely have to tune-in and check it out. With the two of us together on live TV, you never know what we might say!”
Reba has won 12 Academy of Country Music Awards including winning Top Female Vocalist seven times and being awarded the first-ever annual Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award for her outstanding philanthropic work. This marks Blake Shelton’s debut as an award show host as he becomes the 50th host since the inception of the ACM Awards. Shelton has been nominated for three ACM Awards and won his first ACM award last year for Vocal Event of the Year for his No. 1 hit single “Hillbilly Bone” which features longtime friend Trace Adkins.
Last year Reba and Blake read our nominations and they were just magic together, incredibly funny, said Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy. When Reba suggested inviting Blake to join her, the Academy could not have been more pleased we know the viewers will be blown away by their comic chemistry.
Blake has an outstanding stage presence and is a great fit with Reba. They did a terrific job last year during our nominations and its a natural progression for them to host the upcoming 46th annual ACM Awards, said Orly Adelson, President of dick clark productions and Executive Producer of the Awards.
Be sure to tune in on April 3rd at 8:00PM EST on CBS and see how the evening unfolds.
CMT’s first scripted sitcom, WORKING CLASS, starring TV veteran Melissa Peterman and Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Ed Asner, makes its network debut Friday, January 28 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT, followed by a second, all-new episode at 8:30 p.m., ET/PT.
The new 12 episode, multi-camera series follows Carli Mitchell (Melissa Peterman), a single mom from a rough and tumble background, trying to give her three kids a better life by moving them to an upscale suburb. She quickly finds that making the transition to “the good life” is harder than she thought. She’s unwittingly befriended by her cranky neighbor, Hank (Ed Asner), her only “career” prospect is a glorified deli job at the local grocery store, and the man she falls for not only already has a girlfriend – but he’s also her boss, Rob (Patrick Fabian). With her ladies-man brother, Nick (Steve Kazee), to help her out (when he’s not acting like one of the kids himself), Carli faces the challenges of parenting, dating, and making friends in her new community by doing more with less, staying true to herself and approaching each day with a touch of working class.
The complete cast includes:
Melissa Peterman– “Carli Mitchell”
Ed Asner– “Hank Greziak,” Carli’s neighbor.
Steve Kazee– “Nick Garrett,” Carli’s brother.
Patrick Fabian– “Rob Parker,” Carli’s boss and love interest.
The show will also feature multiple guest stars throughout the season, including recently- announced Reba, whose on-screen reunion with Melissa Peterman will air in February. Additional guest stars include David Faustino (“Married with Children” and Not Another B Movie); Kathy Kinney (“The Drew Carey Show” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”); Martin Mull (“Roseanne” and “’Til Death”);John Schneider (“The Dukes of Hazzard” and “Smallville”); Ryan Stiles (“Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “The Drew Carey Show”); and Lesley Ann Warren (“In Plain Sight” and “Desperate Housewives”), as well as CMT’s own Evan Farmer from CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN.
