Country Superstar Martina McBride made a Midwest trek over the weekend as part of her One Night Theater Tour and sold out all three shows. The powerhouse vocalist shared stories, favorite songs and more with packed houses at the Shooting Star Casino (Mahnomen, MN); Surf Ballroom (Clearlake, IA) and Honeywell Center (Wabash, IN).

Wanting to share a special experience with her fans, McBride also took to Twitter for setlist ideas and giveaways, providing yet another way to connect. Just before the Wabash, IN show, McBride helped make a special moment for a mother and daughter, gifting them tickets to the concert.

McBride is not only helping create memories for the audience, but is experiencing them herself. “I love performing in places with history where you can almost hear musicians from the past. Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper played their last show at The Surf Ballroom where we were on Saturday so I wanted to perform the Buddy Holly classic, “That’ll Be The Day,” said McBride. The show was over two hours long and earned her two encores.

Throughout most of the summer, she will engage with fans during the One Night Tour, but on May 27, McBride will head to Indianapolis, IN to sing the national anthem at the 96th Indianapolis 500. A couple of weeks later, on June 10, she will headline the CMA Music Festival’s LP Field show in Nashville. GRAMMY® winning Country Superstar Martina McBride will sing the national anthem during pre-race ceremonies at the 96th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A Kansas native, McBride is known for having one of the most spectacular voices in any genre of music.  She is a four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and has sold more than 18 million albums, producing six #1 hit singles. The three-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year was most recently nominated for Female Video of the Year at the upcoming CMT Music Awards on June 6. Fans can vote daily until June 4 at www.CMT.com.

“I am extremely excited that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has invited me to this year’s Indy 500,” said Martina. “It is a huge honor to sing the National Anthem at what is known as the ‘Greatest Spectacle in Racing.’”

“We welcome Martina McBride to IMS to perform ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ shortly before the engines fire for the 96th Indianapolis 500,” said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and chief executive officer. “Her unforgettable voice and stage presence will add special meaning to this tribute to our country and the veterans who have served it with great dedication and sacrifice.”

McBride’s first album on Republic Nashville, ELEVEN, includes her current single, “Marry Me,” a collaboration with Train’s Pat Monahan and is the follow-up to her 25th career Top 10 single, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”

Having completed a winter arena tour with fellow Country music superstar George Strait, McBride recently embarked on an intimate theater tour across the country. ACM Wedding Invitation - CountryMusicRocks.net

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Martina McBride, along with Train frontman Pat Monahan, is scheduled to perform her new single “Marry Me” on the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. To celebrate the message of the song, McBride and Monahan will perform the duet during a very special moment in the show when a couple will get married live onstage. The show, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time in ACM Awards history –and perhaps any awards history– a live wedding ceremony will take place onstage during McBride and Monahan’s duet of “Marry Me,” McBride’s current single from her latest album Eleven. The song was coined by Grammy Award-winning artist Monahan and originally released in 2010 as the third single from Train’s chart-topping fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco.

McBride personally selected the lucky recipients of the onstage nuptials. Couple Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci thought they would never find love again.  In July of 2009, Frank lost his wife, Danielle, to thyroid cancer and in that same year, Christina lost her husband, Paul, in a tragic drowning accident.  As a way to deal with the grief of losing her husband and raising her two sons Stephen and Paul on her own, Christina started a support group for young widows and widowers in Washington Township, N.J. where she met Frank. Slowly their friendship blossomed into love as they bonded over their shared views about the challenges of single parenthood and the struggles to keep the memories of their spouses alive.  Their wedding will mark a new chapter in their lives, an intimate moment which they will graciously share onstage.  The bride will be wearing an Oleg Cassini gown as she recites her vows.  Fans can also follow Christina and Frank along their journey to the chapel at www.ACMwedding.com.

McBride and Monahan join previously announced performers Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Young, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts.

Sam’s Club has joined forces with TWO Nashville recording stars, General Mills, key food suppliers and the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief charity, Feeding America, in a nationwide program to help Feeding America secure up to one million meals for local food banks to fulfill critical springtime shortages. From March 14- 18, country stars, including Martina McBride and Edens Edge, join Sam’s Club to engage members with the global helping Feeding America secure meals for local food banks across the U.S.

Hunger is an issue year-round and can be especially critical in the spring as post holiday volunteer efforts and supplies typically diminish. While many believe that those affected by hunger are confined to small pockets of society, in reality, one in six Americans is struggling with hunger. Sam’s Club Members have two ways to participate in the Spring Hunger Event from March 14-28 including: By purchasing specially marked General Mills items at Sam’s Club, members can help Feeding America secure TEN MEALS for local food banks once members visit www.outnumberhunger.com/samsclub and enter the code located on the packaging by March 1, 2013. For every code entered by March 1, 2013, General Mills will donate $1.30 to Feeding America – enough to secure 10 meals on behalf of local food banks up to a maximum donation of $130,000. Members can also place non-perishable food in collection bins at Sam’s Clubs nationwide.

In support of hunger-relief, the country artists will join Sam’s Club associates at several local food banks, with appearances by Edens Edge in St. Louis on March 15 and Martina McBride in Phoenix on March 24. Members will also have the chance to meet these artists at local Sam’s Club locations as Edens Edge and Martina McBride personally ask Members to participate in the Spring Hunger Event with in-club appearances.

Martina McBride Blake Shelton - CountryMusicRocks.net

Martina McBride and Blake Shelton might seem like unlikely friends at first glance, but they’re actually very good friends thanks to her ability to look beyond the surface. “He’s so ornery. And he has so much charisma. And so much talent,” says Martina, but, “underneath all that craziness is a really good person and, you know, I’m really drawn to that.” Martina actually shares a great friendship with Blake and his wife, Miranda Lambert. “They’re just both sweet as could be. I mean, I love Miranda (Lambert) too. So, it’s really cool to have that friendship.”

Martina also sings on Shelton’s latest album release Red River Blue on the track “I’m Sorry”.

Martina is currently enjoying the success of her latest top ten song, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” and spending some time with another good friend, George Strait, opening for him on his winter tour.

Martina McBride is very excited to be starting off the New Year out on the road with George Strait on his tour. “It’s been probably six or seven years since we’ve toured with him and that experience in itself was amazing, but we were doing stadiums. But I think this tour will be even more intimate, and it’s just great.”

One thing Martina is really looking forward to taking advantage of is the opportunity to hang out with George. “I don’t know if he still does this but when we toured together before,” she says, “there was a tent every night. You could go and hang out with him if you wanted to. He kind of likes to hang out, which I was surprised, and I took advantage of that. You know I’m thinking if I get to hang out with George Strait, I’m gonna do that.” Martina says she and George have always had a cool connection and, “I just really think he’s awesome.”

The tour will kick off on January 27th at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA, and will wrap up on February 25th in Kansas City.
