Kix Brooks will release his solo Arista Nashville debut album, New To This Town, September 11. The 12-song collection, with 9 co-written by Kix, was produced by Kix with Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts co-producing the title track.

“I made an album that really is close to my heart, and it’s a whole lot of fun,” shares Kix. “For the most part, the music’s just…it’s kind of fun and games and hangin’ it out there and thinkin’ about gettin’ back in a lot of those clubs and festivals and gettin’ to play again. It’s like, you know, people come to enjoy themselves, and I think this album in a lot of ways is about that.”

On Tuesday, July, 10 Kix will make his solo debut on the Grand Ole Opry.

Kix Brooks’ first Arista Nashville solo single, “New To This Town” (Featuring Joe Walsh), officially hit the airwaves this week becoming Billboard’s most added song and Country Aircheck’s second most added song on the country airplay charts with a combined 48 reporting stations playing the song.

“The single’s title, ‘New To This Town,’ pretty much says it all,” explains Kix. “I’d written the song with some old friends and wanted to put it down while it was fresh in my mind. It was as if it were meant to be. Then it was mentioned, ‘some Joe Walsh sounding slide’ would sound great on the track. What are the chances the man himself would be generous enough to help me out!! What you hear today is a lotta luck….and a little bit of magic. You can’t go back, but finding a place to start over is what makes life worth living – I’m really excited!!”

USA Today names “New To This Town” (Featuring Joe Walsh) as their “Pick of the Week” in their current issue on stands today. Co-written by Brooks and longtime friends Marv Green and Terry McBride, “New To This Town” (Featuring Joe Walsh) is available now at iTunes by clicking HERE.

For 20 years, Kix Brooks was with Brooks & Dunn, the most successful duo in country music having sold more than 30 million albums, released 23 No. 1 singles, and winning 80 major industry awards including becoming the most awarded act in ACM history.

Kix Brooks will release his first Arista Nashville solo single, “New To This Town” (featuring Joe Walsh), to radio on March 19. After spending twenty years as one half of Brooks & Dunn, the most successful duo in country music history, Kix is heading in his own direction.

“It’s a freedom of sorts,” shares Kix about Brooks & Dunn coming to an end. “It’s not a bitter freedom by any means, just sort of a ‘well that was fun, now what?’ Sort of like being at a theme park and looking around after riding the same roller coaster you finally say, ‘Ok I think I’ll try that one over there!’”

Kix’s ‘new ride’ begins with his first solo single on Arista Nashville, “New To This Town” (featuring Joe Walsh), co-written by Brooks and longtime friends Marv Green (Brooks & Dunn’s “Proud Of The House We Built”) and Terry McBride (Brooks & Dunn hits “If You See Him/If You See Her” and “Play Something Country”).

“It paints the powerful emotion we’ve all known, of lost love and the uncomfortable situation of running in to that person again.” Kix says that “after a couple phone calls, and the sending of a music file across the internet, the man himself put his stamp on ‘New To This Town’ like only Joe Walsh could!”

Brooks & Dunn is the most successful duo in country music having sold more than 30 million albums, released 23 No. 1 singles, and winning 80 major industry awards including becoming the most awarded act in ACM history.

Kix Brooks, half of the super-duo Brooks & Dunn, is setting his trademark cowboy boots aside to help U.S. Servicemen and women returning from combat.  He is the featured celebrity this week at www.bootcampaign.com.

The boots are part of a national initiative called the Boot Campaign.  The Campaign’s motto is, “When They Come Back, We Give Back.”   Proceeds from every pair of boots sold through the Boot Campaign go to charities that help military members and their families cope with physical injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.   The Boot Campaign’s goal is to see one million Americans sporting a pair of “Give Back” boots.

Five Texas women – known as the Boot Girls – launched the Boot Campaign in 2009 after reading a book called The Lone Survivor.  The book chronicles the story of Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell who was the lone survivor of a mission to capture a Taliban leader in the mountains of Afghanistan.  In 2010, Luttrell started The Lone Survivor Foundation, now one of the charities that benefits from the Boot Campaign.

Brooks joins an impressive roster of celebrities from all entertainment mediums and genres who have donned “Give Back” boots.  Other celebrities include former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, Texas Governor Rick Perry and fellow country stars Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels and Gretchen Wilson to name a few.

Brooks currently hosts American Country Countdown, an internationally syndicated radio show that counts down the top 30 country songs each week.  For two decades, he was half of  Brooks & Dunn, the highest selling duo in country music history.  The duo sold more than 30 million records, scored 23 number one hits and won an impressive 80 major music industry awards.

Kix Brooks serves on the boards of the Country Music Association and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
