While in Nashville gearing up to join Jason Aldean’s 2013 NIGHT TRAIN tour, RCA Nashville’s Platinum selling country singer Jake Owen celebrated the­ GOLD certification in the U.S. for his single “The One That Got Away.” The RIAA has acknowledged the No. 1 smash single for selling over 500,000 copies, marking his first GOLD record that he co-penned. Label executives and management surprised Jake with the shiny news and a special plaque to commemorate the occasion in the midst of his tour rehearsal yesterday (2/19) at Soundcheck.

RCA Nashville’s Jake Owen is celebrating his third consecutive No. 1 single – and first that he co-penned – to date with “The One That Got Away,” which landed in the top spot on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck country radio airplay charts this week. The song also hit No. 1 on the MusicRow Country Breakoutchart. Just a few days before learning the good news, Jake and his wife Lacey welcomed their first daughter, Olive Pearl Owen.
