Elektra Records trio, THE FARM, made their Grand Ole Opry debut February 10th, 2012. Presented on the famous stage as an acoustic trio, Farmers Nick Hoffman (vocals, fiddle), Damien Horne (vocals, keyboard, guitar) and Krista Marie (vocals, guitar) performed their first single, “Home Sweet Home,” along with another track on their forthcoming album called, “Be Grateful.”

The band has also just released their debut video for the single, “Home Sweet Home.” Filmed in Nashville and featuring footage from the band’s New Year’s Eve show on the Nashville riverfront, the video was directed by Tackelbox Films’ Edde Brothers.

On February 7 MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner filmed the music video for his new song “Time Is Love” in Nashville, TN. The video for “Time Is Love” is Turner’s NINTH music video in his career and the first off his forthcoming album Punching Bag which will be in stores later this year.

Kenny Chesney & Jason Aldean were in Nashville Tuesday night (Jan.17) celebrating their GRAMMY Award Nominations at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.  Kenny Chesney along with Matraca Berg & Deena Carter are nominated for best country song for “You and Tequila”. Jason Aldean has 3 GRAMMY nominations and include Best Country Solo Performance for “Dirt Road Anthem,” Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” (with Kelly Clarkson), and Best Country Album for My Kinda Party.

Kellie Pickler brought in the New Year by celebrating her first wedding anniversary with husband/songwriter Kyle Jacobs on January 1st.  Today, Pickler shared with fans, via Twitter, a picture of the happy couple “fishing in St. Lucia! :) ”

Pickler will be gearing up to release her highly anticipated 3rd studio album, 100 PROOF, available on January 24th.

A canceled flight turned into planes, trains and automobiles, as BNA/Columbia Records artist Joanna Smith tried to get to a WJVC/Huntington, NY performance on Thursday. She arrived with minutes to spare, but the harried trip left her with very little time to do her hair. Fellow rising star singer/songwriter Lauren Alaina stepped in to help, and curled Joanna’s hair before either had to hit the stage.

Joanna is headed home to South Georgia this week to spend Christmas with her family. “We have the same routine every Christmas in our family,” she recently told Country Weekly Magazine. “We always go to Eufaula, Alabama and spend time with my mama’s side of the family. The past few years have been extra special because we’ve had some precious little additions to the family. Kids always make Christmas more fun.”
