Warner Music Nashville recently released a dual volume collection entitled Original Songwriter Demos Volumes 1 & 2 and is of the songwriters themselves singing the hits before they became hits from artists. This type of release is rare but it gives a whole new perspective on the music industry and a new level of appreciation to the hit songs that we all know and love.

Warner Bros. Records is bringing music back to its roots with the release of Volumes 1 and 2 of the Original Songwriter Demos, a collection of original demo performances, available today. This unique project gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look at country music’s most influential hits, with fan favorites like Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me” and George Strait’s “Check Yes or No.” 
The Original Songwriter Demos provides a fresh perspective by showcasing the original intent of the songwriter and by letting music fans hear the version that was pitched to the artists who have made these hits into a household classic. In addition, the CD booklet and digital download PDF contains the stories behind each hit song as told by the songwriters.

CMT is celebrating the most successful and influential songs of the past ten years when it counts down country’s most popular videos in an all-new music special, CMT’S 40 GREATEST SONGS OF THE DECADE, premiering Saturday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT. The two-hour special will pay tribute to the top 40 videos in country music from 2000-2010, ranging from rowdy party songs and working class anthems, to passionate and fiery love songs; all of which have become fan favorites and staples in country music over the last decade.
