When Lee Brice took the stage at a sold-out Madison Square Garden Friday night, he had no idea he’d be an RIAA certified Platinum artist by the end of his set.

NBC’s “Today” show host, Hoda Kotb — along with RIAA representatives Cara Duckworth and Jonathan Lamy — joined Lee on stage and surprised him with a plaque recognizing “I Don’t Dance” as the fastest Country single to certify RIAA Platinum this year.

If you missed it, Hoda shared the moment during the “Today” show yesterday morning, watch below.

“I Don’t Dance” is the title track to Lee’s third studio album and was written as a wedding gift to his wife, Sara. It recently held the #1 spot at Country radio and received a CMA nomination for “Song of The Year” earlier this month.

Brice’s new album I DON’T DANCE is available now in retail stores and on digital music outlets.
