Carrie Underwood will appear on NBC’s Today Show this Friday, Sept. 26 to share some exciting news as an exclusive first with their viewers and her fans.

During the Today Show visit, Carrie will also speak about her performance at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, Sept. 27 to be headlined by herself, JAY Z, No Doubt, fun., The Roots, and Tiësto on the Great Lawn in Central Park. MSNBC will carry the full concert live on cable and msnbc.com and NBC News will produce a one-hour primetime special of the event to air on NBC at 9p.m. on September 27.

The Global Citizen Festival aims to celebrate the achievements made toward ending extreme poverty by 2030, and provide world leaders with a clear and compelling mandate to accelerate progress on the issues of vaccines, education and sanitation. The Global Citizen movement focuses on those living in extreme poverty – defined as living on less than $1.25 a day for shelter, food, health care etc. This is a free ticketed event and anyone who gets involved online can earn tickets at www.globalcitizenfestival.com by completing online “actions” related to the three key issues. Since the Festival’s inception in 2012, actions taken by concertgoers have resulted in $1.3 billion dollars in new funding and 35 commitments from world leaders that directly benefit the world’s poor.
